Fashion Degree Schools

December 11, 2011 Posted by admin

Fashion Degrees programs provide structure to those individuals with creativity and drive, but who are lacking in direction. These programs also show students how to manifest those interests into a profitable career. Students will truly be enlightened by all of the information they will acquire by pursuing this degree.

If you are wondering what kind of courses to expect in a fashion degree program, here are a few examples: hand drawing, human anatomy, sewing and tailoring, fashion and art history and design principles. Experts suggest that potential students pursue a four year bachelor’s degree rather than just an associate’s degree, for the obvious reasons. This is a more substantial educational foundation that will translate to greater marketability and increased professional success.

With a bachelor’s degree in Fashion Schools, students will be aptly prepared for the fast-paced and ever-changing work industry.

Recent college graduates have an educational background that can serve to put them in various fashion-related industries and these opportunities develop experiences that can further help the student zero in on their career goals. Participating in internship programs or entry-level fashion positions can also help students determine in which area to focus their creativity.

Depending upon where your interests direct you, you can focus on a specific track. Fashion merchandising, fashion marketing, accessory design, fashion design, interior design and retail management are a few examples of the avenues a fashion design major could pursue. If you are unsure about what aspect of fashion you would like to focus your studies in, then you can acquire a broad curriculum, one that serves to give you a general understanding of the fashion industry. In this broad field, actual career possibilities vary greatly.

Obtaining a bachelors degree in fashion design can present you with very lucrative opportunities, but you must be dedicated and passionate in order to achieve financial success. This is an industry truly based upon pursuing one’s artistic passions and can be rather competitive, so individuals who chose to follow this degree program must build a thick skin in order to thrive.

Although it can take years to become a self-employed fashion designer, the rewards are plentiful. One piece of advice given to aspiring designers is to never give up or lose motivation. Success is dependent upon how much work you put in, so prepare yourself to do the grunt work asked of you in pursuit of making your dreams come alive.

If you are interested in a career as a fashion event planner, merchandiser, marketer, advertising agent, consultant, or manager, you should consider enrolling in an bachelor degree program in fashion marketing. These programs are readily available at fashion institutes, art and design schools, and many traditional colleges and universities. In addition, a variety of learning formats are available including on-campus, online, and blended. Blended programs require students to complete part of the degree on campus and the other part online.

No matter which type of school or format you choose, the curriculum will be similar or the same. An accredited online fashion marketing degree program will cover accounting, art theory/fashion history, consumer behavior, fundamentals of fashion merchandising, marketing and promotion, merchandising trends, multi-channel retailing, and principles of apparel design, product development, public relations, and retail merchandising. Depending on your location, internship opportunities may be available at small local retailers and many chain stores. Tv Cooking Programmes Drive A Surge Of Interest In Culinary Art Schools

December 9, 2011 Posted by admin

With the increase in number and popularity of television programmes focusing on cooking and culinary skills a large number of people are finding the internet a key place to find tips and information on culinary art schools.

Over 53,000 people last month searched on the internet for information on ‘culinary schools’ and this data is from just one search engine. This increasing trend for people looking for culinary art schools and for careers in the culinary world is believed to be driven by the significant rise in cooking and culinary related programmes which have been aired on television especially over the last few months. This has been coupled with the new high profiles of so called ‘celebrity chefs’, further driving interest in the field.

Anne Sprigpitt owner of 1culinaryartschools.com says, “Over the last few months we’ve seen a significant increase in the numbers of people using our site to find more information about culinary arts schools. Much of this is down to the popularity of TV cooking programmes such as ‘Master Chef’, ‘Saturday Kitchen’ and ‘Great British Menu’, which have been screening on the BBC over recent months.”

“The main problem many people who search for information on culinary art schools is that they are overwhelmed by the number of different options available to them. For example there are French cooking schools, Thai cooking schools, Le Cordon Bleu schools, Italian cooking schools and many more. There are so many choices they just don’t know where to start looking”

“My advice to anyone who is looking for a career in cooking and wants to join a culinary art school is to narrow down your areas of interest, so that you identify what area of cooking you are most passionate about and go for it. The most important thing is doing what you love.”

Cooking to a very high standard is not easy and requires many hours of dedication, sweat and tears. If the increase in popularity of culinary art schools continues, we should see a new wave of ‘celebrity chefs’ coming through over the next few years as more people see it as a viable way to achieve success and fame.

Public Schools in Mt Pleasant, SC – A Driving Force in Home Prices

December 8, 2011 Posted by admin

Mount Pleasant, South Carolina has the best public schools in all of Charleston. In fact, this area has very few private schools compared to the other Charleston areas simply because most of its residents send their children to the public schools. You’ll find a wide range of academic activities and clubs, including theater, film, computer science, chess, astronomy, and sailing clubs. The Mount Pleasant schools also have a great athletic program – especially the high school, which is the home of the Wando Warriors. In addition to the usual football, tennis, cross country, volleyball, basketball, softball, baseball, cheerleading, track and field, swimming, wrestling, and soccer, the high school has other sports that are growing in popularity in public schools (like lacrosse and golf).

As you look through MLS reports, you’ll see which elementary, middle, and high school the home is zoned for.

In many of the other areas of Charleston, some schools are avoided because of low test scores, etc. However, this is not a concern in Mt. Pleasant because all of the schools are quite good. Mount Pleasant has one high school, and it has received the S.C. School Report Card’s highest rating possible for the past five years. I’ve included some more specific information below for the elementary and middle schools so that you can keep it in mind when comparing homes.

Mt. Pleasant has five elementary schools. Belle Hall, located on Egypt Road, has a total of almost 800 students and has received the highest rating (Excellent) for the past five years on the South Carolina School Report Card. Charles Pinckney is the largest elementary school in Mount Pleasant, with just under 1,000 students.

It is located just past the Highway 41 junction in Mt. Pleasant and has also received all Excellent ratings for the past five years. Jennie Moore is a Magnet school. However, it is one of three elementary schools to not have the highest rating possible every year for the past five years. In 2008, it received a rating of Good, which is second best in the S.C. School Report Card. Jennie Moore’s student population is just under 700 students. James B. Edwards is located on Von Kolnitz Boulevard, which is just over the Ravenel Bridge from downtown Charleston. Like Jennie Moore, James Edwards also received a rating of Good for 2008. Additionally, it is about the same size as Jennie Moore. Mamie P. Whitesides is on Rifle Range Road, located just minutes from downtown Charleston. Mamie Whitesides is the smallest elementary school in Mt. Pleasant, with a student population of about 600. It received an Excellent rating in four of the past five years (in 2007, it received a rating of Good).

You’ll find three public middle schools in Mount Pleasant. Moultrie is located just over the Ravenel Bridge and is a brand new school. It has about 900 students. Although it received a rating of Excellent in 2004 and 2005, it has been rated as Good for the past three years. Thomas C. Cario has just over 1200 students and has identical ratings as Moultrie. Laing is by far the smallest of the three middle schools, with a student population of about 500. Laing is a Science and Technology Magnet school. However, it has the lowest ratings of any Mt. Pleasant school. It was rated Good from 2004 to 2006 and then Average (which is a step lower) for 2007 and 2008.

You can search all Mt Pleasant homes for sale on Lee’s website, including Mt Pleasant SC real estate listed by Carolina One and all other companies in Charleston!
